Gołotczyzna- supple center of agricultural education.
Aleksandra Bąkowska i Aleksander Świętochowski-owners of agricultural schools in Gołotczyzna.
 

About hundred km from Warsaw there is Golotczyzna, small country place, mainly known as well developing Agricultural Educational Center.Only unusual generosity in social matters of Gołotczyzna's owner Aleksandra z Sędzimirów Bąkowskiej and her common social ideas with Aleksander Świętochowski called " apostle of truth" made it possible to create and develop Gołotczyzna. Aleksander Świętochowski was one of the front representatives of Polish positivism, main creator of its program which comprised two statements " organic work" (comparison of human organism to social society) and " work at bases" (help to lower layers of society).

Positivism had important impact on outlook of some Polish generations. The most important task for " Pope of Positivism" was improving the level of education for peasants. The realization of the educational program for people could not succeed because of the stern policy of Russian invaders. Work with lower layers didn't have satisfactory effects as it was difficult to level great neglect in economy in such short period of time. Long-sight targets of positivism in practice was realized only by Świętochowski which was not easy.

1909- Practical Household Farm for country girls.

1912-Practical Farm for country boys.

Świętochowski had satisfaction only after creation of agricultural school in Gołotczyzna. It was possible only due good will and money of Aleksandra z Sędzimirów Bąkowska.

In 1908 she created a half-legal agricultural school for girls in Gołotczyzna. With the help of Świętochowski she managed to legalize it by Petersburg Authority as " Practical Household Farm For Country Girls" in 1909. Świętochowski , in its turn, wanted to create agricultural school for sons of peasants. In 1912 appeared a new agricultural male school legalized as Practical Household Farm for country boys. Świętochowski called it "Bratne". He wanted its every pupil to be "son for the earth, brother for people".

Introduced history of school proves the fact that this school exists thanks to great positivism personalities: Aleksadra Bąkowska and Aleksander Świętochowski. It is quite evident that Aleksander Świętochowski is the patron of our school.

In 1984 Zespól Szkół Rolnicznych in Gołotczyzna-Bratne was given the name of Aleksander Świętochowski with ceremony. It was only nice formality, because factually he had being taken care of our school from the very beginning of its existence.

From 1973 in "Krzewnia" there is Museum of Positivism by A. Świętochowski. Museum in Gołotczyzna is mostly visited by school youth. Lectures of History and Literature and meetings with poets are conducted there.
